This project brings together recordings released as tributes to the music of Thelonious Monk. It is the result of an ongoing and systematic search across the web. The collection continues to grow as new recordings are identified. The sole criterion for inclusion is that at least 40% of the recorded repertoire consists of compositions by Thelonious Monk, with only a few carefully considered exceptions. Its aim is to provide a documentary resource for collectors and jazz enthusiasts interested in the recorded legacy inspired by Monk's music. Any contributions, corrections or new references are always welcome and will help keep this project alive and true to its purpose.
